KINGFIELD, Maine – Maine Huts & Trails is celebrating Maine’s harvest season with a farm-to-hut dining experience on Saturday, September 17. The harvest dinner will take place at Stratton Brook Hut where participants enjoy a farm fresh meal at 1,900′. This eco-friendly, off-the-grid hut offers prime fall foliage views of the Bigelow Mountain range, Sugarloaf Mountain and beyond.
Preparing the dinner will be a talented local chef, working closely with local farmers to create the perfect seasonal menu. Maine Huts & Trails is internationally known for their impressive backcountry cuisine. The chefs at each hut use locally sourced and organic ingredients whenever possible. The meal will feature multiple courses and a full menu will be released before the event.
Reservations include lodging at Stratton Brook Hut and three meals (including the harvest dinner with each course paired with wine and a lunch for the next day’s hike out). Tickets start at $140 per person for members and $150 per person for non-members.
Guests are encouraged to explore the area for an unforgettable leaf-peeping experience. Stratton Brook Hut is ideal for hikers, as it allows direct access to the Bigelow Preserve, home of multiple 4,000′ peaks, for ultimate foliage views. Mountain bikers will enjoy more than 50 miles of single track trails. The area is home to hundreds of bird species, secluded fishing spots, and pristine rivers and lakes for paddling canoes or kayaks.
