NMC Creates Program to Promote Responsible Alcohol Consumption for Statewide Client

NMC Account Executive Greg Glynn helped connect the Maine Beer and Wine Distributors Association with Maine Olympian Julia Clukey.
AUGUSTA, Maine - In June, Nancy Marshall Communications worked with the Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association (MBWDA) to partner with Olympian Julia Clukey and launched a series of public service announcements(PSAs) to raise awareness about underage drinking. The underage drinking PSAs are part of an ongoing responsibility campaign by the MBWDA to actively promote the responsible consumption of their products.

The PSAs aired on local Citadel Broadcasting and Cumulus radio stations throughout the state to coincide with the high school graduation season.

The new PSAs featured Maine Olympian and member of the US National Luge Team, Julia Clukey. The announcements aired during the high school graduation season and early summer months to remind young adults and their friends that one bad decision could jeopardize their future, or as Clukey puts it, "send you off course."

In addition to the PSAs, Julia made numerous on-air appearances on local Citadel Broadcasting and Cumulus radio stations across Maine. Click here to listen to the PSAs or listen to the radio interviews.

The Maine Beer & Wine Distributors Association is a group of Maine family-owned distributors. MBWDA member companies are an integral link in the state regulated alcohol distribution system. Distributors provide transportation, refrigerated storage and maintenance for perishable malt beverages and wine from the time they leave the supplier until they arrive at the local retailer. This system provides consumers unparalleled access to a tremendous variety of styles and products. As local businesses residing in the communities they also serve, Maine beer and wine distributors share a collective responsibility to ensure their products are consumed responsibly. About the MBWDA
The Maine Beer and Wine Distributors Association (MBWDA), founded in 1933, is a non profit trade association that advocates on behalf of Maine-based, family-owned businesses licensed to distribute beer, wine and non-alcoholic beverages to Maine retailers, restaurants and bars certified to sell these products to consumers. MBWDA members operate under a state-based regulatory system that ensures products are consumed legally and responsibly. The association also supports numerous alcohol awareness initiatives to help Maine residents make responsible choices about drinking.
