White Papers Keep An Up-to-date List Of Contacts
When sending news releases to the media, be sure that you have an up-to-date list of contacts.
Nothing shouts "unprofessional" louder than an envelope with an out-of-date contact name on it. You'd be better off sending fewer releases to an updated list of media contacts than hundreds or thousands of releases to an outdated list. Take the time to go through your list periodically and be sure that the journalists on your list are still at the publication you have in your database. If you don't have time to do this, consider using a service such as PR Newswire, or an agency which keeps its lists clean and up-to-date.
Another option is simply to list "News Editor" or "City/State Editor" on your label. This is preferable if you don't have time to stay on top of who is currently in that position at your targeted media outlets.
