Be Available

If you are the contact person on a press release and a journalist decides to follow up for more information, you need to be available.

If you aren't able to provide additional information to the journalist when they call because you are traveling or in a meeting, you're better off not sending a release out at all. At the very least, you should provide another contact person or even your home phone and cell phone numbers.

It's extremely important to be available for a follow-up interview or to provide further information.
