AUGUSTA, Maine - Nancy Marshall, CEO of Nancy Marshall Communications and a 32-year veteran of the public relations industry, has published a new book about public relations for small businesses.

In the book, Marshall, known as The PR Maven®, lays out the process of establishing a cost-effective and measurable public relations program step-by-step. The book also provides numerous examples of PR tools businesses can use as templates when implementing their own PR tactics.
Marshall said, "I was inspired to write this book because I've seen so many business owners make the mistake of staying behind their computers and relying solely on technology to build a name for themselves. Building a network of personal relationships is still a very large part of the PR pie."
The book also encourages small businesses to look at the big picture when it comes to PR, marketing and advertising.
